No, you’re not betraying your younger self

My whole life, as far as I know.

I am a very dedicated person when it comes to my passion.

Whatever I choose, It’s gotta be something I’ve studied for quite some time.

So when it comes to a career, it’s not something that is going to happen, flourish overnight.

You studied hard, you got into that program, you practiced, you earned it.

And once you land a job, it will take time to elevate, level up, and climb on those ladders until you’re satisfied with the compensation that comes with it.

This had been something I held onto for a very long time.

.

.

So when I moved back home and started applying for jobs, it wasn’t been easy.

I feel like I've had everything they wanted to fulfill that specific role.

I must be the right candidate, the first person they are going to call.

But what happened was slightly different.

I got a call, and went through several stages of the interview. But in the end, I didn’t get a job.
